Esmond Knight was a British Actor, who was popular in film and on the stage having a successful career before and after the the war including a lead in Hitchcock's Waltzes in Vienna, his actingg career continued even when blind. He was injured in battle on his ship The Prince of Wales during WWII losing his sight for two years, it came back later but not permanently. He took up painting when his eyesight failed for the second time, not able to sketch he painted from memory
