A Victorian mahogany armchair, with open arms, foliate red upholstery and turned front supports, stamped 'Gillow' to both rear legs, one numbered '1157'. Gillows of Lancaster are one of the most famous and respected UK furniture makers, while they stamped some of their pieces, that's not the case with all of them, making this a collector's item as well as practical and beautiful bit of furniture. The chair is overall in very good condition and extremely comfortable to sit in.
