A stunning late 19th century French rosewood desk, restored to a high standard and fitted with a beautiful new navy leather top. Compact and practical in size, it is the kind of piece that works as hard as it looks good — equally at home in a study, library, or bedroom.
The reeding and floral carved details are just beautiful, a fine example of French craftmanship. The drawers run smoothly. The stretchers have been repaired, please see the photos — but everything is solid and well-finished. The locks do not lock as the key is a replacement, though they function perfectly well as drawer pulls.
